By the Sea Productions presents ‘Sylvia’ starting June 21
Adoption of new dog creates humorous competition for affection
– By the Sea Productions’ summer show is the comedy “Sylvia” by A.R. Gurney. The title character is a stray dog that Greg, recently retired, brings home from the park. Sylvia adores Greg, but his wife Kate is not pleased with this addition to the household. The situation develops into a humorous competition for Greg’s affections.
Directed by Jean Miller, the cast includes Alexis Dyson as Sylvia, Daniel Freeman as Greg, Maggie Coons as Kate, with Chrys Barnes and L. Kelty in supporting roles.
An anonymous supporter of By the Sea Productions has pledged to donate $2 for every ticket sold to Best Friends Animal Society’s campaign to bring all animal shelters to a no-kill basis by 2025.
“Sylvia” runs from June 21 through July 7, with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. at 545 Shasta Ave. in Morro Bay. Tickets are available at bytheseaproductions.org or by calling (805) 776-3287.
