Burn season closes in Atascadero 

Deadline for cutting weeds in June 1

– On May 1, Atascadero Fire & Emergency Services closed the 2023 Burn Season. The City of Atascadero thanks residents that chose to use the newly launched online burn permit application tool, www.publicfiresafety.com. By doing so, the city says it was made aware of locations that residents had planned to burn and communicate effectively and quickly with them if conditions changed.

As alternatives, Atascadero Fire & Emergency Services encourages residents to utilize the Green Waste Recycling Program through Atascadero Waste Alternatives. Citizens can check with Atascadero Waste Alternatives for their area’s pick-up days.

In addition, Atascadero Fire & Emergency Services would like to remind residents that the deadline for cutting weeds is June 1.
