Boys & Girls Club honoring Dale Gomer at annual dinner
– The Boys & Girls Club of North San Luis Obispo County will honor Dale Gomer, CEO of Paso Robles Waste & Recycle, as its 2015 “Champion for Children.” Gomer’s passion for underserved youth began when he was a probation officer, and supporting the Boys & Girls Club was a way he could honor his mother’s legacy and provide services to those who needed it most, the club says. Gomer’s mother, Ida, was instrumental in the establishment of the club in the early 90’s. Gomer has continued her legacy, serving as a board member for nearly 20 years and remains a major supporter of its programs. His leadership and advocacy have been crucial to the club’s success, according to the club.
“Dale’s steadfast support and guidance over the years has been vital to our organization and the families we serve,” said Kate Morgans, CEO The Boys & Girls Club, “We are delighted to honor him.”
This year’s 15th annual Winemakers’ Dinner will be held Sept. 12 at the historic Grand Ballroom at the Paso Robles Inn, with a five-course tasting menu from the inn’s new executive chef, Ryan Swarthout, paired with wines from Pomar Junction, Roxo Port, Tablas Creek, Tooth and Nail and Villa San Juliette. The evening will also include live and silent auctions.
A limited number of tickets for the event are still available and are $100 per person or $800 for a table of eight. To purchase tickets, visit www.bgcslocounty.org or email [email protected] or call (805) 239-3659.
