B.A.D. transforms genuine car parts into functional art pieces

– Ben’s Automotive Decor (B.A.D.) will host a grand opening celebration for its new automotive art gallery and coffee shop in Atascadero on July 19 from 4 to 9 p.m. The event will include workshop tours, live music, refreshments, giveaways, and an open invitation for car enthusiasts to bring their favorite cars to show.

B.A.D. transforms genuine car parts into functional art pieces, including engine coffee tables, car-themed wall art, metal sculptures, piston clocks, lamps, and barware. Located at 3710 El Camino Real in Atascadero, this new space will showcase these creations and offer visitors a chance to enjoy coffee, watch vintage F1 racing, and meet Ben Harvey, the artist behind B.A.D., as he works on his latest pieces.

“Creating car art has always been a passion of mine. I love helping car enthusiasts express their love for cars in a unique and artistic way,” says Harvey, founder of B.A.D. “Opening this new gallery is a dream come true, and I’m thrilled to have a dedicated space to showcase our work and share the creative process with fellow car lovers.”

The new gallery marks a significant milestone for B.A.D., which started in 2017 when Harvey took his passion for cars to an artistic level. Growing up around his family’s repair shop in Devon, England, Harvey developed an appreciation for automotive engineering. His first creations, an Aston Martin V12 engine block coffee table, and a piston clock, received positive reactions that led him to offer his art for purchase.

The piston clock is a popular B.A.D. item, often gifted to car enthusiasts. Customers can even have one custom-made from their favorite car’s engine.

Since then, Harvey has crafted pieces for clients, including McLaren Headquarters in the U.S., HGTV’s Windy City Rehab, and various car collectors. With this new gallery located off the 101 freeway on the central coast of California, Harvey believes B.A.D. will become a destination for car enthusiasts to experience his automotive art and enjoy a cup of coffee.
