Atascadero’s D.C. Carter named director of marketing at MacSuperstore
Veteran marketer Christopher, “D.C.” Carter has been named director of marketing for the MacSuperstore chain by owner Shane Williams. Carter began work at the position this week. He lives in Atascadero with his wife, Julie, and 14 year-old son, A.J., who attends Atascadero Junior High School.
His is a new position at the company, as MacSuperstore’s recent growth has made it necessary to have someone at the director level who can oversee community outreach, advertising and marketing efforts. MacSuperstore had long been a two-location company before doubling in size over the past two years with the addition of stores in Santa Barbara and Monterey.
Carter brings more than 25 years of media and marketing experience. His background includes radio, television and newspaper, including eight years managing the operations and programming of the Central Coast’s largest radio group. Most recently, Carter has been a media specialist with the area’s longest-standing marketing company, S. Lombardi & Associates. There he planned and executed marketing strategies for dozens of prominent local businesses over the past five years.
Williams commented on the appointment, “We’re thrilled to have D.C. join the MacSuperstore family. His marketing expertise and knowledge of the Central Coast will be great assets as we continue to grow. The relationships we have with our customers have been key to our success and D.C. will be instrumental in communicating with current and potential customers.”
MacSuperstore began in San Luis Obispo in 1998 and expanded to Colorado Springs in 2008 before adding Santa Barbara in 2013 and Monterey in 2014. It is an Apple specialist and premium service provider.
