Atascadero Rotary Club supports youth leadership initiative
Four students sponsored
– The Atascadero Rotary Club recently sponsored four students to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) program, a global initiative aimed at fostering leadership skills among young individuals.
RYLA, an acronym for Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, sees the participation of thousands of young people annually. Selected based on their leadership potential, these youths are granted the opportunity to attend an all-expenses-paid camp where they engage in discussions on leadership skills and put them into practice. Rotary clubs and districts play a pivotal role in selecting participants and overseeing the event’s curriculum.
Rotary District 5240 spans the central coast of California from San Luis Obispo to Agoura Hills covering inland to China Lake. This district is comprised of 72 independent local Rotary clubs. Each year the district hosts a leadership retreat for high school students local to each of these clubs. The opportunity for each Rotary club to make an impact in their own backyards is far-reaching through this event.
