Atascadero resident arrested for rape, possessing child pornography
–In September 2017, Atascadero Police Department detectives began investigating a reported sexual assault involving a 16-year-old female victim and a 56-year-old male suspect, Atascadero resident Jess Drue Brasuell III.
In November 2017, detectives served a search warrant at Brasuell’s residence in the 7100 block of Sombrilla Ave. in Atascadero. Brasuell was arrested on various felony charges and was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail.
During the investigation, additional victims were identified, according to police. Brasuell has now been charged with crimes stemming from assaults of three other minor female victims. Some of Brasuell’s criminal charges include: unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, rape of an intoxicated victim, forcible oral copulation, lewd act with a 14 or 15 year old child, assault with intent to commit a lewd act, possession of child pornography, and furnishing a controlled substance to a minor. The investigation is ongoing.
