Atascadero Recreation opens registration for first youth pickleball class
Classes are open to students in 5th through 8th grades and will be held at the Colony Park Community Center Gym
– Atascadero Recreation is offering its first youth pickleball class, providing an opportunity for local kids to learn one of the fastest-growing sports. The class will teach fundamental skills, knowledge, and strategies of pickleball, which combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis.
The classes are open to students in 5th through 8th grades and will be held at the Colony Park Community Center Gym, located at 5599 Traffic Way. Sessions are scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays from Oct. 28 through Nov. 25. The 5th and 6th-grade class runs from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., while the 7th and 8th-grade class runs from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The cost is $64 for residents and $75 for non-residents. Players are encouraged to wear athletic attire and can bring their own paddles, although paddles will also be provided.
