Atascadero receives double honors for bridge projects 

– The City of Atascadero has received two awards from the Central Coast Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA) for its transportation projects.

The city won the 2023 Transportation Project of the Year ($5 Million – $25 Million) and Overall Project of the Year awards for the Via Avenue and Santa Lucia Road Bridge projects.

Both projects, funded by grants through the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Highway Bridge Program, were completed in late 2023.

The city thanked residents for their participation, patience, and support during the projects’ development and construction.
