Atascadero Police Department selects sergeant for Masonic Lodge recognition
– Last week, the Masonic Lodge played host to a dinner honoring law enforcement officers who have displayed exceptional performance and leadership in the execution of their duties. The Atascadero Police Department selected Sam Rod for this prestigious recognition:

Within our organization, Sam has become an informal subject matter expert on pursuing narcotic cases. He readily assists other officers in building cases, providing oversight, and offering help whenever needed.
Sam volunteered at the Lighthouse Reality Tour, working to educate young people about the risks associated with drugs, demonstrating his commitment to the community. As a detective, Sam has proven himself a valuable asset as a leader and mentor to other detectives in the bureau. He is a go-to resource when others are stuck or need advice on a case, always ready, willing, and eager to assist, day or night.
Sam embodies the qualities of a dependable friend you can call anytime, day or night, rain or shine. He consistently makes himself available to help his fellow officers or detectives. Recently, Sam was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, largely due to his proven leadership abilities. He worked his first shift as a supervisor this past Saturday, May 18, 2024.
