Atascadero, Paso Robles mayors urge citizens to vote

Martin & O’Malley urge all votes to make their voices heard
– The two Mayors of cities in Northern San Luis Obispo County are making a bipartisan call for voter participation in the Nov. 8 election. Mayor Tom O’Malley of Atascadero and Mayor Steve Martin of Paso Robles are taking the remaining days before the Nov. 8 election to focus on voter turnout.
“We both feel it’s incredibly important that every registered voter either turn in that absentee ballot or show up at the polls,” said Martin. “Even though election season can get very stressful, we all should participate in the decision-making process.”
O’Malley, a Republican, and Martin, a Democrat, work together on many community projects and activities calling themselves “Dos Alcaldes,” which means “Two Mayors” in Spanish. O’Malley said “We all have our opinions and allegiances but, when this election is over, we will still have to come together as neighbors and friends to work for our communities.
They say they believe local races are non-partisan races and that it takes everyone’s input during the election season to choose the best qualified leaders and provide direction for future decisions. They urge all registered voters “Get Out And Vote!”
