Atascadero lights up rotunda, sunken gardens for the holidays
–The Atascadero Rotunda celebrates the holidays with new lighting this year. Because the Cedrus deodara are aging, the old cedar trees were spared holiday lights. Instead, more lights adorn the Rotunda. Friday night, the city ceremoniously lit the Rotunda and Sunken Gardens. Sunday night, the Supermoon rose above the hills and brightened the holiday illumination.
Full and in perigee, the Supermoon hangs just to the right of the Christmas tree. Brighter than lunar normal, the Supermoon provided a heavenly addition to the holiday illumination of Atascadero’s Rotunda.
