Atascadero Library announces Sept. programming 

The Atascadero Library is located at 6555 Capistrano Ave in Atascadero.

–The Atascadero library announced programming for September.

Many of the listed library programs are generously sponsored by the Friends of the Atascadero Library.

The library will be closed Monday, Sept. 3 in observation of Labor Day.

Children’s programs

Preschool storytimes

Preschool storytimes are scheduled on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at 10:30. We will share stories and songs.

Toddler Storytime

Storytime specifically designed for toddlers every Friday morning at 10:30. We will share stories, rhymes, music and finger plays.

Railroad Storytimes

Special train storytimes just in time for the Railroad Festival in SLO!
Tuesday, Sept. at 10:30 for Preschool age
Friday, Sept. 28 at 10:30 for Toddlers

Family Movie

Saturday, Sept. 1 at 2 p.m. See library website for details.
All ages.

Craft Club 

Come make a fun project! Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 3:30 p.m. Registration required. Ages 6-12.

Teen Writing Workshop with Sherry Shahan

Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 3:30 p.m. Registration required. Ages 10-17.

Paws to Read to Daisy

Thursday, Sept. 6 and Thursday, Sept 20 at 3:30 p.m. Practice reading anything to Daisy the dog and she will listen! School age.

Pyjama Drama

Six Thursdays Sept. 6- Oct. 11 at 3:30 p.m. Drama and imaginative play classes with the theme of making. Registration required. Ages 5-8.

Lego Club

Saturday, Sept. 15 at 2 p.m. Registration required. Ages 5-12.

Fused Glass for Teens with Sheri Klein

Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 3:30 p.m. Create beautiful glass art projects. Registration required. Ages 10-17.

How to Publish Your Book with Brendan Kelso

Q and A with Jim Seybert, Professional Audiobook Narrator

Saturday, Sept. 29 at 2 p.m.

Book Discussion Groups

The two library book groups are Gems in the Stacks which meets the 1st Tuesday, (Sept. 4) of the month at 11 a.m. and Mixed Minds Book Group which meets the 3rd Thursday (Sept. 20) of the month at 2:30. Gems in the Stacks will discuss Hero of the Empire by Candice Millard. Mixed Minds Book Group will discuss The Girl in the Spider’s Web by David Lagercrantz.

Images of North County art exhibit

Selected photography will be on display on the theme “Images of North County” during September. An art reception will be on Thursday, Sept. 6 at 5:30 p.m. to meet the artists. Light refreshments will be served and all are welcome.
