Atascadero hotel secures fourth IHG Torchbearer Award since 2011
Award highlights the hotel’s strong performance across several criteria
– Holiday Inn Express & Suites Atascadero has received the 2023 IHG Torchbearer Award, the highest honor from the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG). This award is given to hotels that demonstrate top excellence within IHG, placing Holiday Inn Express & Suites Atascadero in the top 1% of properties in the Americas, including Canada, the U.S., and Latin America, according to a press release. This marks the fourth time the Atascadero location has earned this recognition, having previously won in 2016, 2015, and 2011.
The Torchbearer Award highlights the hotel’s strong performance across several criteria and emphasizes its commitment to providing an exceptional guest experience. Amar Sohi, managing partner and co-owner, credited the hotel’s team for the achievement. “Our dynamic team has been instrumental in earning this recognition, showcasing their dedication to our guests and fellow colleagues. This award reflects their relentless pursuit of excellence and commitment to upholding the high standards set by IHG, our guests, and ourselves,” Sohi said.
The 2023 Torchbearer trophy, representing IHG’s symbol of excellence, is now displayed at the hotel alongside previous awards. Locally owned by H & S Hospitality of San Luis Obispo, the 80-room Holiday Inn Express & Suites Atascadero opened in July 2008 and underwent a complete renovation in 2021.
