Greyhound: Dane Hardy
Sport: Varsity Cross Country
Grade: Sophomore
Coach’s comment: Dane is the epitome of a leader. He brings an unmatched work ethic to every practice modelling what every coach would like to see from their athletes. Dane has grown leaps and bounds this season and his hard work is beginning to pay off. Dane ran one of his fastest times last week, and the team will be counting on him for the last two meets. Great job Dane! – Coach Hale
Greyhound: Kyle Shatwell
Sport: Varsity Cross Country
Grade: Sophomore
Coach’s comment: Kyle always brings a positive and cheerful attitude to practice. With other athletes unfortunately plagued by injury, Kyle has really stepped up for the varsity boys (despite his age) and has played an integral part in being a leader. He has placed in the top 3 overall for every race but one and has really shown resilience this season. Great job Kyle! – Coach Hale
All coaches at Atascadero High School are invited to participate in Athletes of the Week to recognize students who were standouts at a recent competition, showing improvement at practices, or bringing a great attitude to the team.
