Atascadero glass art studio offers variety of events
Two events are available this week with limited slots
Glasshead Studio is offering two educational glass crafting events for small groups this week, as well as many more similar events in the future.
The first event will be Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. It offers up to six participants a chance to learn how to make a fused glass sushi set with all materials provided by the studio. The cost is $200.
The second event will be this Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. It offers up to six participants the chance to learn the basics of fusing and slumping glass in a course designed for beginners that culminates in a bowl or a plate. Participants are welcome to use pre-cut glass pieces or learn how to cut out glass shapes to create more personalized and unique designs. Materials are all provided by the studio and the cost is $100.
Glasshead Studio is located at 8793 Plata Lane in Atascadero and was founded two years ago by Lisa Renée Falk, who relocated to the Central Coast region to be closer to family.
Falk’s long career is filled with years of experience working with arts and crafts like glassblowing, which she is passionate about. She has even created wearable glass dresses for fashion shows using innovative techniques like fusing glass discs encased in fiber screening.
She’s also known for co-founding Infuse Glass Studio in the historic Japantown district in downtown San Jose with Trace Galbraith, where both of them offered classes and workshops for offsite team building events, birthday parties and private classes.
Interested parties may sign up for any of the studio’s events by emailing [email protected] with the name of the event as the subject.
