Atascadero Elks host second annual Veterans’ Car Show
Free breakfast offered for all veterans at classic car show in Atascadero
– The Elks Atascadero Lodge #2733 is set to host the Second Annual Veterans’ Car Show on Sunday, June 18, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Atascadero Elks Lodge located at 1516 El Camino Real. Last year’s inaugural Veterans’ Car Show showcased seventy-two vehicles and attracted over 200 community members.
Each vehicle owner participating in the car show will receive one vote in the “Participant’s Choice Contest” to determine their favorite vehicle among the displays. Awards will be presented to the top three finishers.
All veterans attending the event will be treated to a complimentary breakfast burrito. Non-veterans will have the option to purchase breakfast burritos for $10.
The classic car show is open to classic car owners, veterans, Elk members, and community members.
The Atascadero Elks have been actively involved in various programs since their establishment in 1987. Their contributions exceeding $850,000 have supported youth activities, local sports, programs for handicapped and needy children, patriotic programs, veterans’ programs, and a wide range of community activities. The Elks also actively participate in drug awareness programs in local schools and distribute dictionaries to all third-grade students in the area.
Founded on Sept. 26, 1987, the Atascadero Elks Lodge aims to promote the principles of charity, justice, brotherly love, and fidelity, while fostering a belief in God. Their mission is to enhance the welfare and happiness of their members, nurture the spirit of American patriotism, foster fellowship, perpetuate themselves as a fraternal organization, and serve the people and communities through benevolent programs, as outlined by the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America.
