Atascadero Downtown District Pavement Rehabilitation Project continues
– Work on the City of Atascadero Downtown District Pavement Rehabilitation Project continues, with the following construction updates for the week of Nov. 13 to Nov. 17:
Paving work commences today, encompassing Lewis Avenue, East Mall, and West Mall (between Lewis and Capistrano). Demolition and construction of curb ramps at West Mall and Lewis and West Mall and Palma (west corners) happened at the beginning of the week. The demolition of the curb ramp at West Mall and Lewis (east corner) will begin today as well. Broadband utility work is ongoing on Palma Avenue (south side of the road), Traffic Way (south side in parking/bike lane), Lewis Avenue (Southwest side, in parking/bike lane), and East Mall (south side, in the edge of sidewalk and parking/bike lane). Sidewalk and road access will be maintained, but parking in these areas may experience temporary impacts.
Looking ahead to next week, paving work will persist on Lewis Avenue, East Mall, and West Mall (between Lewis and Capistrano). Anticipate staggered road closures on these routes during this period, while sidewalk access remains open. The demolition and construction of the curb ramp at West Mall and Lewis (East corner) will continue on November 20. Broadband utility work will extend to Palma Avenue (south side of road) and Traffic Way downtown (south side in parking/bike lane), with work commencing on the portion of Traffic Way between Lewis Avenue and Tunitas Avenue. Sidewalk and road access will be maintained, but parking in these areas may experience temporary impacts.
No construction work is scheduled for Nov. 23-24 in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Residents are advised to anticipate additional construction-related noise during demolition activities, and updates will be provided as they become available. The information is updated weekly to facilitate planning and stay informed about upcoming construction activities. Construction updates, along with maps, can be accessed at www.Atascadero.org/downtownpaving. Construction schedules are subject to change based on staffing, supplies, and weather conditions.
