Atascadero Colony Days parade moves to Nov. 15 with Fall Festival
Parade will feature floats, bands, and community groups downtown
– The Atascadero Colony Days Committee, in partnership with En Fuego Events and the City of Atascadero, announced that this year’s Colony Days Parade and Festival will move from its traditional October date to Saturday, Nov. 15. The event will align with Atascadero’s Fall Festival in downtown.
For more than 51 years, Colony Days has been a local tradition celebrating the community of Atascadero. Organizers said the move opens opportunities for collaboration, expanded activities, and increased attendance.
“The move was thought out and was done to keep the parade alive for the next 50 years and make sure it continues to celebrate the community of Atascadero as it grows into the future,” said Elizabeth Enriquez-Phillips, co-chair of the Colony Days Committee. “Partnering with En Fuego Events and the City allows us to bring additional resources and energy while staying true to the legacy of Maggie Rice Vandergon.”
The parade and festival will continue to feature floats, community groups, and marching bands, now paired with the Fall Festival’s carnival rides, music, and vendors. Historic Colony Days civic and nonprofit vendors are also encouraged to participate.
Parade entry is free, and applications will be available at colonydays.org. Volunteers are also being sought to help with logistics and community outreach. Organizers encourage residents to share the event on social media, join the Colony Days Facebook page, and invite friends and family.
The combined celebration will take place Saturday, Nov. 15, in downtown Atascadero.
