Application deadline is Oct. 16

– The Atascadero Chamber of Commerce has announced an open call for individuals interested in becoming a member of the board of directors. The chamber welcomes applications from individuals of all backgrounds and experiences. Terms are three years in length and membership is required. The application can be found at www.atascaderochamber.org and the deadline to apply is Oct. 16.

“We are seeking visionary leaders to join our esteemed board of directors to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Atascadero,” said Josh Cross, chamber president and CEO.

“Our board of directors is at the heart of our mission to foster economic growth, collaboration, and community engagement. Board members are instrumental in guiding the chamber’s initiatives, ensuring the success of our organization.”

To be considered, prospective board members must be passionate about the community, be ready to help move Atascadero forward, commit to serving a three-year term, collaborate with fellow board members on opportunities to help the chamber and its business community and support the chamber and the team’s efforts in driving new initiatives to empower the Atascadero business community.

Jacque Fields, Wild Fields Brewhouse co-founder and president, is the current chairman of the board. “The Atascadero Chamber of Commerce is an incredible group of passionate, driven, and thoughtful business professionals. We are always excited to have others who are as committed to business success in OUR community get involved,” Fields said. “Our collective energy is a force, and if you are passionate about Atascadero businesses, I hope you will consider stepping up and getting involved too!”

Board members are expected to actively participate on at least one of the following chamber committees: ambassadors, diversity council, economic prosperity council, legislative affairs council, membership committee, marketing committee, and the wine and beer event committee.

Raechelle Bowlay, director of the early care and education planning council at the San Luis Obispo County Office of Education, is the incoming chairman of the board. “I encourage people to consider serving, especially if they are already chamber members because it is the next way to engage, see how things are changing, and influence new initiatives that they would like to see from their chamber,” she said, “A chamber board position is unique because the chamber is a membership organization and a membership-driven board. It’s not just about the organization; it’s about helping businesses to run, thrive and succeed.”
