Atascadero Chamber hires manager to expand family-friendly workplace program

New role helps businesses adopt flexible and supportive practices
– The Atascadero Chamber of Commerce announced that Christina Lefevre Latner has joined its team to assist businesses in earning recognition as family-friendly workplaces.
Lefevre Latner serves as workforce development manager for the San Luis Obispo County Family-Friendly Workplaces Program, which the Atascadero Chamber of Commerce hosts. Since 2021, she has led efforts to advance workplace policies that support working families, strengthen employee well-being, and promote long-term community and economic stability.
Through partnerships with employers across San Luis Obispo County, Lefevre Latner helps organizations implement family-friendly practices, including flexible scheduling, caregiving supports, and inclusive workplace cultures aimed at improving recruitment, retention, and organizational performance.
She brings more than 25 years of experience in public policy, public health, and community-based systems change. Her career includes work with the San Luis Obispo County Public Health Department in tobacco control and prevention, where she supported policy change and social norm shifts to improve community health. She also lectured in California Polytechnic State University’s Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Department and served as a consultant to community organizations throughout San Luis Obispo County, focusing on equity, prevention, and systems-level solutions.
Lefevre Latner holds a bachelor’s degree from San Francisco State University and a master’s degree in public policy from California Polytechnic State University. She serves as president of AAUW Atascadero and sits on the board of Friends of the Atascadero Library.
She lives in North County with her husband, two children, and two pugs.
