Atascadero Art Association awards grants to local art teachers

–The Atascadero Art Association awarded grants to three Atascadero High School teachers David Pascolla, Tess Harback, and Julie Steyer. Each grant was for $500, and will enable each teacher to buy additional supplies for their classrooms in order to encourage students in the arts.

David Pascolla teaches photography and will use the money for supplies like a heavier paper for them to do a quality book for them to take home at the end of the year and additional inks.

Tess Harback teaches pastel and ceramics and will use the money for supplies such as additional underglazes that students can experiment with.

The association decided to do grants to teachers this year in place of student scholarships in order to distribute supplies to a greater number of students and to encourage the growth of art in our community.
