About the instructor
Living along the coast of Southern California has been a great source of inspiration for Danchik, she says. She has enjoyed capturing subjects such as birds on the beach, sunsets, children building sand castles, dog walkers in the park, beautiful harbor scenes, and land and seascapes.
Being born and raised in South Africa has given Danchik some insight into the plight of women and children living in shanty towns and rural villages that lack clean running water and basic facilities. She says her heart is tender towards children who have been orphaned due to the ongoing HIV/AIDS pandemic in Africa. Through her art, she has been able to tell their stories and bring awareness to their situations. She supports several organizations that are making an impact at a grassroots level. (See Acres of Love and Wells of Life)
Her skills as a painter were honed by taking painting workshops with accomplished artists throughout the country. Now she also enjoys teaching art classes in a local gallery in San Juan Capistrano called Mission Fine Art Gallery.
Danchik has had her paintings juried into national shows like the California Art Club Gold Medal Show, Oil Painters of America, LPAPA, and SOCALPAPA. She exhibited her work at the Laguna Festival of Arts in 2017, 2018, and 2022.
