Artist to give demo plein air painting with pastels
Demo day at the Morro Bay Art Association Gallery occurs monthly on the first Monday of the month
– Artist Dotty Hawthorne will conduct a free demonstration on plein air painting with pastels at the Morro Bay Art Center on April 8, from 3 to 5 p.m.
Hawthorne, recognized for her mastery of pastel, oil, and watercolor, will showcase her technique and equipment during the event. Known for transforming ordinary landscapes into captivating compositions, she emphasizes capturing the interplay of light with the land and sky. Her artwork has earned accolades and has been featured in various publications, including International Artist Magazine, Southwestern Art, and Watercolor Magazine. Additionally, her pieces are part of collections, including the SLO Art Museum and hospitals in Santa Barbara and Santa Maria.
Demo day at the Morro Bay Art Association Gallery occurs monthly on the first Monday of the month, always from 3 to 5 p.m., and is open to the public free of charge.
