Art Center Morro Bay to present ‘The Road to Mastery’ drawing class
Class designed to teach basic drawing skills on which more advanced skills can be developed
– Art Center Morro Bay will present – “The Road to Mastery: Lessons in Beginning Drawing” with Marie Ramey in a six-session class.
This is a foundational beginning drawing class designed to teach basic drawing skills on which more advanced skills can be developed. In six 2-hour classes
we will learn the following:
- How to enhance the illusion of what is near and far on the same page using the tricks of the masters
- How to draw a formal still life
- How to make your own choices in a drawing
- How to do a contour drawing
- How to make convincing illusion using a variety of values
- How to use the creative effects of 2-point perspective
Supplies needed:
- Jumbo vine charcoal
- Compressed charcoal
- Hard eraser (pink pearl is good)
- Conte (red or brown red, black, and white)
- 6B Pencil
The class will occur on Feb. 7, 8, 11, 14, 15, 18 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Art Center Morro Bay, located at 835 Main St., in Morro Bay.

The cost is $130 per member and $140 per non-member. Refunds are available up to seven days before this class begins.
Attendees will be asked to wear a facial covering as well as be prepared with proof of COVID-19 vaccines.
