Art Center Morro Bay presents two new exhibits
– Art Center Morro Bay will present two new exhibits: “Yin and Yang” and the annual “Brushstrokes” exhibit.
The “Yin and Yang” exhibit will be displayed in the Main Gallery. This exhibit invites artists to explore the dichotomies and harmony found in the Chinese philosophical concept of Yin and Yang. Artists are encouraged to experiment with black-and-white themes or delve into the concept of balance and harmony.
The “Brushstrokes 2024” exhibit will take place in the Russell Gallery (upstairs) from Aug. 8 to Sept. 16. This annual juried exhibition, hosted by the Painter’s Group, is non-themed and features a range of artistic expressions across various painting mediums, including acrylic, oil, pastel, watercolor, encaustic, digital, and collage.
Phillip Lopez will be the featured artist for this year’s Brushstrokes exhibit. Lopez’s work, whether hand-built, thrown on the potter’s wheel, or created as unique sculptures, reflects his design sense, creativity, and artistic interpretation.
Art intake for the Brushstrokes exhibit is scheduled for Aug. 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. An opening reception will be held on Aug. 11 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
