Art Center Morro Bay hosts ‘Out of the Blue’ exhibit

– Art Center Morro Bay will present “Out of the Blue,” an art exhibit running from Sept. 18 to Nov. 3 at 835 Main St.
The show explores the many dimensions of the color blue, with artists using shades such as cobalt, ultramarine, and periwinkle to convey a range of ideas. The exhibit focuses on how blue can be used to express identity, culture, nature, and abstraction.
An artist’s reception is scheduled for Sept. 21 from 2 to 4 p.m.
The featured 3D artist is Gwynnie LaChance, a lifelong ceramist who works primarily in stoneware. She decorates pots using paper rest and underglaze transfers, layering colors and textures with a vintage style.
