‘Aquarius’ water media exhibition opens in Morro Bay Feb. 23

– The Central Coast Watercolor Society has announced the Aquarius 2023 California Open Watermedia Exhibition, to be held Feb. 23 – April 3,  at Art Center Morro Bay, 835 Main Street, in Morro Bay.

The exhibition presents the best in water media painting, representing a wide range of subject material and techniques, from experimental to traditional, and encourages support for water media painting as a vital, enduring, and expressive artistic medium.

Submissions came from artists throughout California State as well as local CCWS members. The juror for selection and awards is the internationally recognized, award-winning watercolorist Fealing Lin. Over $3000 in cash and merchandise will be awarded.

A list of the selected artists is below and can also be found on the Central Coast Watercolor Society website. The exhibition opened officially on Feb. 23 with an opening reception from 2-4 p.m. on Feb. 26, including the presentation of awards and certificates and a gallery tour. The show closes on April 3.
