Applications open for Miss California Mid-State Fair pageant
Application deadline set for April 17
– The California Mid-State Fair is accepting applications for the 2026 Miss California Mid-State Fair Scholarship Pageant, which is open to eligible applicants from San Luis Obispo County.
Applicants must be between 18 and 24 years old or be a graduating high school senior and reside in San Luis Obispo County. Previous pageant experience is not required.
Contestants will participate in a personal interview, talent presentation, evening gown presentation, fair platform proposal, and final question. Scholarships will be awarded in multiple categories, including Best Interview, Best Talent, Miss Congeniality, first and second runner-up princesses, and Miss California Mid-State Fair Queen.
The fair platform proposal portion allows contestants to present an original idea intended to enhance the guest experience at the California Mid-State Fair.
The pageant will take place on Wednesday, July 15, at 6 p.m. on the Frontier Stage and continues the fair’s 80-year tradition of recognizing young women in the community.
“This program is about far more than a crown,” Pageant Director Courtney Lucas said. “It’s about providing scholarships, mentorship, and a platform for young women to grow in confidence while representing their community.”
Organizers said participation provides opportunities to earn scholarship funds, build leadership experience, develop public speaking skills, form friendships, and represent a regional event.
Applications are currently available. An information meeting will take place on March 25, and the application deadline is April 17. Additional details, contestant introductions, and attendee information will be announced this spring.
