Applications now open for upcoming affordable housing in SLO
The new housing community is expected to be complete by early 2023
– Starting Aug. 1, applications will be made available for Broad Street Place: new affordable housing from People’s Self-Help Housing (PSHH).
Broad Street place is a new affordable housing community coming to the City of San Luis Obispo, which will serve lower-income earning households. Completion is anticipated in early 2023.
The property will include three commercial spaces for local businesses and 40 residential apartments including studio, one, two and three-bedroom floorplans.
A number of units will provide ADA-certified accessibility for those with mobility, hearing, and vision limitations. Plus, 10 units will provide housing for unhoused veterans.
Amenities include a community room, shared kitchen, barbeque space, outdoor patios, a playground, covered bike parking, electric vehicle charging stations and laundry facilities.
PSHH will provide onsite property management and free supportive housing services to all residents.
“As construction on Broad Street Place enters these exciting final stages, we are gearing up for the property to open.” said Ken Trigueiro, CEO & President of People’s Self-Help Housing. “We hope those who have been long-awaiting new affordable housing in San Luis Obispo can submit their applications and find a new place to call home.”
Eligibility for Broad Street Place is based on income requirements, occupancy limits and other property-specific criteria. Section 8 is also welcomed.
Applications are available starting today via email at [email protected] and online at pshhc.org/new-housing. For more information, interested applicants can also call 805-548-0932.
