Allegretto Wines Announces The San Francisco International Wine Competition Results
Allegretto Wines, producing some of the best single-vineyard wines in Paso Robles, recently announced the award of 97 points and a Double Gold Medal for the 2015 Willow Creek Cabernet Sauvignon and two Silver Medals for their 2015 Bella Collina Tannat and the 2018 Rosй of Tannat at the San Francisco International Wine Competition held in November 2019.
“We are very proud of these awards,” said Douglas Ayres, Allegretto Wines proprietor. “The awards are recognition for the hard work and exceptional craftsmanship by our winemaker, Alan Kinne, and the entire vineyard staff.”
The 2015 Cabernet fruit comes from the vineyard in the Willow Creek district of Paso Robles. The fruit was aged in a 40-percent new oak for 40 months. The end result brought fragrances of blackberry and dark chocolate savory notes. On the palate, vegetal notes followed by fresh cherries and finishes with rolling tannings. This Double Gold Medal winner is available from the winery.
Both the 2015 Bella Collina Tannat and the 2018 Rose of Tannat were awarded Silver Medals. Both showcase the unique flavors that the varietal Tannat has to offer in two very distinct ways.
The 2015 Bella Collina Tannat is a full-bodied red with fall aromas of dried spices and fresh leaves, with flavors of allspice, almonds, cloves and ripe raspberries. This is a perfect and unique addition to any holiday gathering. The 2015 Bella Collina Tannat is also available from the winery.
The 2018 Rose of Tannat is sold out, but the winery is looking forward to releasing another gorgeous tropical dry rosй in 2020!
Allegretto wines are available in the tasting room, online, or at the Allegretto Resort’s Cello Ristorante & Bar. Allegretto Wines memberships also enjoy special pricing on purchases of these award-winning estate and single-vineyard wines and in Paso Robles.
Allegretto Wines are the product of years of careful cultivation of two vineyards. Douglas Ayers first purchased the seventeen-acre premium Cabernet Sauvignon Willow Creek District vineyard in 2013, bringing his long-time dream of making world-class wine to life. Shortly after, Ayres purchased 20 more acres and planted eight of those acres with Viognier, Vermentino, Malbec, Tannat and Cabernet Sauvignon. With the help of award-winning winemaker, Alan Kinne, the vineyards have produced some of the Paso Robles region’s best single-vineyard wines.
