Adoptable pets of the week: Chloe and Frieda

– This week’s edition of North County Adoptable Pets of the Week features special gray kitten Chloe and “Frieda the pocket pittie.”

The featured cat this week is Chloe from the North County Humane Society, a no-kill cat shelter and adoption center in Atascadero.Chloe

Chloe is a special gray kitten. She is “melt your heart” cute and was quickly adopted several months ago, but was brought back to NCHS when she was diagnosed with a urinary crystal problem. Now she is on a special wet food only diet – she cannot be fed regular cat kibble.

Chloe is a happy, playful kitten who is friendly and affectionate. She shows her love with hugs and a loud purr as she is held. Her special diet suggests that she should be an indoor only cat, and probably the only cat in the house. Chloe’s adoption fees have been waived, so she is free to the right household. A NCHS supporter has donated several cases of canned food to help her get started in her new home.

Chloe is about six months old. She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She has been at the shelter now for two months and is ready to settle in to a forever relationship.

Available cats and kittens can be seen on the website at www.slonchs.org. Potential pet parents are also encouraged to stop by and visit with the cats to find the right one for their family.

The North County Humane Society is located just off of Highway 101 by the Del Rio Road exit at 2300 Ramona Rd. in Atascadero. They are open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Complete information is listed on the website, or call NCHS at (805) 466-5403.

FriedaThe featured dog of the week is Frieda from Second Chance at Love, a dog rescue and sanctuary in Templeton that takes in abandoned, neglected, abused or abandoned dogs.

This four-year-old sweetheart was pulled from a high-kill shelter in LA in the nick of time. “Frieda the pocket pittie” was suffering from a horrible skin infection, an injured leg from falling out of a truck, and multiple scrapes and wounds. All healed up now, Frieda is ready for her forever home.

Frieda has the whole package! She loves other dogs, kids and adults. She enjoys her pack walks and car rides as well. Her adorable pocket size makes her even more appealing. Her little face has a little pug look to it. She adores tennis balls, and will play for hours.

For information about adopting Frieda, visit the website or call (805) 434-3982.
