Central Coast Zoo to host Zoo Boo Halloween event Oct. 23-24
Decorations from last year’s Zoo Boo at the Central Coast Zoo.
Two nights of carnival games, a haunted maze, and costume contests planned at the zoo
– The City of Atascadero and the Central Coast Zoo will host Zoo Boo, an annual Halloween event for all ages, from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, and Saturday, Oct. 24, at the zoo in Atascadero.
Both nights offer the same experience, according to the city. Activities include Halloween decorations throughout the zoo, carnival games, Halloween activities, a haunted maze, and tricks and treats.
Two costume contests are planned, one for children and one for families. The zoo recommends costumes that are not violent or scary, with no costume weapons and no masks for adults, and asks that costumes be appropriate for small children.
Animals at the zoo include red pandas, monkeys, meerkats, parrots, and a variety of reptiles.
Tickets are $16 per person per night for general admission and $15 per person per night for zoo members. Children 2 and under are admitted free. Tickets are available through My805Tix.
Organizers ask guests to bring a reusable trick-or-treat bag.
