Grover Beach bank robbery suspect arrested in Paso Robles

67-year-old Bakersfield man was arrested about 50 minutes after the robbery was reported
– A 67-year-old Bakersfield man was arrested Monday after a bank robbery in Grover Beach, according to a press release from the Grover Beach Police Department.
At approximately 12:01 p.m. Monday, the Grover Beach Police Department responded to a reported bank robbery at the Wells Fargo Bank at 1580 W. Grand in Grover Beach. Officers arrived within three minutes of being dispatched.
Officers learned the suspect passed a note declaring he was robbing the bank. No weapons were seen. The teller provided the suspect with an undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspect left through the east side doors on foot.
Using Grover Beach community cameras near the bank and automated license plate reader technology, officers identified the suspect and suspect vehicle within minutes. The information was relayed to law enforcement agencies countywide as a “be on the lookout.”
At approximately 12:51 p.m., a San Luis Obispo County sheriff’s deputy located the suspect vehicle near Highway 101 and Highway 46 in Paso Robles. After conducting a high-risk traffic stop, the deputy arrested the suspect without incident.
Brent David Muir, 67, of Bakersfield, was arrested and booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on robbery and burglary charges.
The Grover Beach Police Department thanked the Arroyo Grande Police Department, the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for their assistance in the case.
