Triple-digit heat expected in Atascadero this week 

San Luis Obispo beats heat record Wednesday

– Atascadero is bracing for a stretch of triple-digit heat this week, with the hottest conditions expected midweek before temperatures begin to ease.

Tuesday’s high is forecast to reach 92 degrees under mostly sunny skies. The heat is expected to intensify Wednesday, when temperatures are forecast to climb to 101 degrees, the peak of the week. Thursday will remain in triple digits, with a high near 99 degrees and sunny skies.

Temperatures are expected to pull back somewhat by the end of the week, with Friday reaching a high of 90 degrees. The weekend will bring further relief, with highs dropping to 85 degrees Saturday and 86 degrees Sunday.

Overnight lows will stay mild through the early part of the week, in the mid-60s, before dipping into the mid-50s by the weekend. Skies are expected to remain sunny to mostly sunny throughout, with no rain in the forecast.
