Grey Barn Collective joins Templeton Library fundraiser market
Vintage & Maker’s Market will take place Sept. 5
– Grey Barn Collective will join the Templeton Library’s Vintage & Maker’s Market on Sept. 5 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1173 S. Main St. in Templeton.
The market will feature collectibles, artist wares, Western tack, and boots. Marble Mike will return from Iowa with new vintage marbles. Custom T-shirts, Pokémon, and comics will also be available.
The fundraiser will support the Templeton Library, a donor-funded public library built and operated through community donations and dedicated volunteers.
According to the library, county supervisors recently stated that it is illegal to return library-service tax dollars paid by Templeton property owners to the Templeton Library. The county previously promised to partner with the Templeton Community Library Association to build and operate a library after closing Templeton’s original county library, but the county could not match the funding.
Both the Atascadero and Cambria libraries were built through 50-50 partnerships, and the Los Osos Library is currently awaiting activation of its 50-50 agreement for a remodel, the library said in a press release.
Templeton residents continue to pay property taxes for library services, but none of those tax revenues is returned to support the Templeton Library.
