13th annual Brew at the Zoo returns Sept. 12
All proceeds from the event will benefit the zoo’s ongoing education and conservation efforts
– The City of Atascadero and the Central Coast Zoo will host the 13th annual Brew at the Zoo from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sept. 12 at the zoo.
The event, themed “Party with Purpose – Sipping to Support Wildlife Conservation,” will feature craft beer, wine, cider, seltzer, and distilled spirits.
A welcome reception will offer pours of spirits, cider, and wine as guests enter the zoo, while supplies last. The event will feature craft breweries and beverage producers from San Luis Obispo County and surrounding areas.
Participating vendors include Ancient Peaks Winery in Santa Margarita; Barrelhouse Brewing in Paso Robles; Blast N Brew in Atascadero; Bristol’s Hard Cider in Atascadero; Booch Craft Kombucha in San Diego; California Coast Beer Co. in Paso Robles; Central Coast Brewing in San Luis Obispo; Eberle Winery in Paso Robles; Fig Mountain Brewing in Buellton; Firestone Walker Brewing in Paso Robles; Happy Dad Hard Seltzer in Orange County; Hoptimist of North County in Paso Robles; Hunt Cellars in Templeton; Lone Madrone in Templeton; M Special Brewing in Santa Barbara; Marins Vineyard in Lockwood; MEA Wine in Atascadero; Oak and Otter Brewing Company in San Luis Obispo; Poisoned Apple in Atascadero; SLO Cider in San Luis Obispo; Third Window Brewing in Santa Barbara; and Wild Fields Brewhouse in Atascadero.
Nonalcoholic beverages will be available for designated drivers, and water will be available for guests.
Entertainment will include Lion Remain Band, Andrew Sedley Jazz Trio, The Vibe Setters, and DJ Chris with Subtone Records.
The event also will include a costume contest, hula hoop contest, and dance contest.
Food available for purchase will include tacos, gourmet quesadillas, tri-tip sandwiches, and Greek food. Attendees will receive a complimentary collectible glass. T-shirts also will be available for purchase.

The Central Coast Zoo is one of 254 institutions accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The zoo is dedicated to the conservation of endangered species, educating the public about the natural world, and providing a family environment for residents and visitors to the Central Coast of California.
More than 60 species and more than 200 animals live at the zoo, including red pandas, monkeys, fossa, meerkats, parrots, and various reptiles.
Online tickets are available for $45 per person, excluding service fees. Tickets also can be purchased at the Central Coast Zoo Gift Shop. Designated driver tickets cost $15 per person.
If tickets remain available on the day of the event, they will cost $55 per person online or at the zoo.

The event will be closed to the public and is limited to guests 21 and older. Designated drivers also must be at least 21 years old.
