Landers will conduct the band’s fall concert Oct. 25

– The Atascadero Community Band has appointed David Landers as its new resident conductor.

Landers will begin his residency by conducting the band’s fall concert, “Critter Pitter Patter,” at 3 p.m. Oct. 25 at Atascadero Bible Church.

Landers began playing trombone in 1981. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Middle Tennessee State University and a Master of Music in Conducting from Sam Houston State University.

He spent 23 years as Director of Bands at Templeton High School and has worked as an educator and professional musician throughout the Central Coast.

Landers has performed with artists including Diane Schuur, The Temptations, Allen Vizzutti, and Jon Anderson of Yes, as well as with Central Coast ensembles.

The “Critter Pitter Patter” concert will feature music inspired by the animal kingdom.

The concert is free and open to the public. Parking and refreshments are free. Donations will benefit a local nonprofit organization.
