Correctional captain retires after 27-year law enforcement career

Landgraf served San Luis Obispo County for 15 years
– Correctional Capt. Stephanie Landgraf retired from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office this month after more than 27 years in law enforcement, including 15 years serving the county. Friday marked her final day with the agency.
Landgraf served as a correctional deputy, facility training officer, sergeant, lieutenant, and captain during her career. The Sheriff’s Office promoted her to correctional captain in March 2021.
She led the Correctional Division for the past five years and served as the highest-ranking member of the San Luis Obispo County Jail.
The Sheriff’s Office credited Landgraf with guiding the jail through changes in corrections, supporting training and best practices, and working with county and community partners to improve services. The agency also credited her with mentoring employees and developing other leaders.
The jail received national accreditation from the National Commission on Correctional Health Care in 2022 under Landgraf’s leadership. The accreditation recognized the jail’s health services for incarcerated people.
