Antelope Fire burns 2,410 acres across two counties
Cal Fire mapped the fire at 2,410 acres Sunday
– The Antelope Fire was 45% contained at 2,410 acres as of Cal Fire’s latest update Sunday evening. Crews stopped the fire’s forward progress Saturday night, and officials reported minimal fire activity overnight into Sunday.
The fire is burning in eastern San Luis Obispo County and Kern County near highways 46 and 41. It began at 4:13 p.m. Saturday and spread into Kern County before crews stopped its advance at 10:40 p.m.
Containment increased from 20% Sunday morning to 45% Sunday evening.
Officials are investigating the cause.
