National Night Out event features police dog, demonstrations
Event aims to bring Atascadero community together
– First responders, local organizations, businesses, and families gathered for National Night Out in Atascadero, according to the Atascadero Police Department.
The event included a police dog demonstration featuring Officer Goudy and K-9 Maverick. The Fire Department also conducted a vehicle-extrication demonstration showing the skills firefighters use during emergency responses.
The Police Department reported a large turnout but did not provide an attendance estimate.
National Night Out takes place on the second Tuesday of August each year. The Police Department invited local businesses and organizations interested in hosting a booth at next year’s event to contact the department for information.
