Gunfire injures two men during fight in Atascadero
Detectives seek information about the incident
– Atascadero police are investigating a disturbance involving gunfire that left two men injured Sunday night, according to a press release.
The Atascadero Police Department received a call at approximately 7:10 p.m. Aug. 2 reporting gunfire in the 9100 block of San Diego Road.
Officers and investigators learned that two adult men had been involved in a physical fight inside a residence. During the fight, one of the men produced a handgun, and approximately two shots were fired while the men were in close proximity to each other, police said.
Both men sustained gunshot wounds. Ambulances transported them to Sierra Vista Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Police said there are no outstanding suspects or threats to the community.
