City of Atascadero opens registration for youth pickleball classes
– Registration is open for Atascadero Recreation’s 2026 Fall Youth Pickleball program for students in fifth through eighth grades.
The program introduces participants to the fundamentals, rules, and strategies of pickleball, a sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis.
Classes will be held at the Colony Park Community Center Gym, 5599 Traffic Way, on Mondays and Wednesdays from Oct. 5 through Oct. 28.
Fifth- and sixth-grade students will meet from 5 to 6 p.m., and seventh- and eighth-grade students will meet from 6 to 7 p.m.
Participants should wear athletic clothing suitable for physical activity. Paddles will be provided, although students may bring their own.
The cost is $80 for Atascadero residents and $88 for non-residents.
Registration closes Sept. 25.
