Morro Bay Independence Day weekend features drone show, parade
The weekend begins July 3 with a festival featuring
– Morro Bay will host three days of Independence Day events from July 3 through July 5, including a drone show, concerts, an art festival, a waterfront market, and family activities.
The weekend begins July 3 with a festival featuring live music, food vendors, a floating bar, and a beer garden. The Molly Ringwald Project is scheduled to perform at 6 p.m., followed by a drone show at 9 p.m. The drone show will be visible above the waterfront from Tidelands Park to Coleman Park.
Art in the Park will take place July 3 through July 5. The outdoor art festival will feature more than 100 artists and makers, food and beverage vendors, and a children’s activity area.
The Waterfront Market will also be held July 3 through July 5. The market will feature more than 30 local vendors selling handmade goods, baked goods, tamales, knitted and crocheted items, dog apparel, plants, home décor, jewelry, candles, incense, and sweets.
Family Fun Day is scheduled for July 4 at Tidelands Park. The event will include a bike parade, children’s carnival, bounce house, food, live music, lawn games, and family contests.
The bike parade begins at 10:30 a.m. on the north side of the Morro Creek Bridge and will travel to Tidelands Park. Participants are encouraged to decorate their bicycles with patriotic-themed decorations.
A concert by Rosewood and Honey is scheduled for 11 a.m., followed by an opening flag ceremony at noon. A hot dog eating contest will begin at 12:15 p.m., and Sound Investment will perform at 1 p.m.
