Templeton Library hosts final sale before summer break

Fundraiser sale features books, collectibles, guitars, and vendors

– Templeton Library will hold its final First Saturday Sale before the summer break on June 6.

The sale will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the library parking lot. Shoppers can browse thrift items, vintage collectibles, books, guitars, and merchandise from local vendors.

The Red Rooster Food Truck will be on site serving breakfast burritos and other breakfast items.

Templeton Library is located at 1173 S. Main St., across from Templeton High School.

According to the library, proceeds from the fundraiser support Templeton Library, which operates through community donations, one paid staff member, and volunteers. The library provides children’s and young adult collections, as well as programs for all ages.

Templeton’s original county library closed in 1979 following funding reductions associated with Proposition 13.

The library said local residents later pursued a building partnership with San Luis Obispo County. When matching county funds did not materialize in 2018, residents funded and built the current library.

According to the library, Templeton residents continue to pay a 1.6% property tax allocation designated for library services, as they have for 47 years, while the library receives no operational funding from San Luis Obispo County.

More information is available at templetonlibrary.org or at the library during regular operating hours.
