Memorial Day ceremony will return to Atascadero Lake Park

– The Atascadero Veterans Memorial Foundation will host its annual Memorial Day ceremony on May 25 at the Faces of Freedom memorial in Atascadero Lake Park.
The event will begin at 11 a.m. Organizers said seating will be limited, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs.
The ceremony will begin with a flyover by Estrella Warbird aircraft, followed by the presentation of the colors accompanied by a pipes and drum corps along the Welcome Home Military Flag Line.
Dick Mason will serve as the event speaker.
The ceremony will include the singing of the national anthem, a prayer, recognition of Gold Star families, a wreath presentation in memory of a local veteran, and the playing of taps.
A barbecue will follow the ceremony, and veteran organizations will be on site to provide information about services and programs.
