Templeton Library to host book signing event with author Karesha McGee

– The Templeton Library will host global communications leader and author Karesha McGee on April 30 for a talk and book signing.

McGee will speak and sign copies of her book, “The Family Healthcare Playbook: An Action Plan for the Accidental Caregiver,” from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The event is free to attend.

McGee has more than 20 years of experience in the technology industry and has advised executives at companies including Cisco, Slack, Oracle, and Uber. She is the chief executive officer and founder of Allana Advisory Services, a communications advisory firm.

She previously served as vice president of communications at Slack, where she built the company’s global corporate communications function and supported its direct listing on the New York Stock Exchange and acquisition by Salesforce. She also held roles at Uber and worked in executive communications for former Cisco chief executive officer John Chambers.

McGee spent several years serving as the primary caregiver for her mother, who experienced breast cancer and two brain aneurysms requiring multiple medical procedures. Those experiences informed her book, which focuses on navigating healthcare systems and decision-making for caregivers.

Books will be available for purchase for $35, unsigned, and $45 signed.
