Obituary of Lida Lucas

– Lida Mae Page was born in Madison, Tennessee. Her father, Mark Archie Page and mother Delia Ann Brizendine were both descendents of veterans of the American Revolutionary War. Her parents were administrators of the Pine Hill Sanitarium in Alabama were Lida was raised in the elder care home. She was a life long member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. When Lida was 17 the family relocated to Modesto, California. Lida attended high school at the Adventist Academy in Ceres where she took a lot of kidding about her deep southern accent.
Lida Mae passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026 at Ingleside Assisted Living in Atascadero. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Michael B. Lucas. In addition to her husband she leaves her brother Victor Page, his wife LaVerta and their children Vincent, Kevin and Tricia.
Her education was at Loma Linda University graduating in 1961 with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing and in 1966 with a Masters Degree in Public Health Nursing. In 1962 she married Lee Yeoman who she supported through Dental School at Loma Linda. They moved to Atascadero in 1968 where Lee had purchased a Dental Practice and Lida worked for the SLO County Public Health Department as their North County Nursing Supervisor. They were divorced in 1970.
In 1971 Lida became the School Nurse at Georgia Brown Elementary School in Paso Robles. She met her husband Michael at their mutual friends’ home in Santa Margarita that year. Lida and Mike were married on August 7, 1976. They have lived in the same home on Atascadero Avenue for the last 50 years.
Lida worked for the Paso Robles School District until her retirement in 1993. During Lida’s time in San Luis Obispo County she was an avid volunteer for many non-profit organizations, including: Easter Seals, Learning Disabilities Association of California, the North County Connection, ALF Food Pantry, Wilshire Hospice, Paso Robles Schools Attendance and Review Board, Paso del Robles Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Templeton Hills Adventist Church and School.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for May 2nd at the Templeton Hills Seventh-Day Adventist Church at 3:00 pm.
