Luncheon in Paso Robles to address challenges facing youth
Event will focus on trends affecting youth
– Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast will host an advocacy event focused on youth issues in Northern San Luis Obispo County later this month in Paso Robles.
The event, titled “Standing With Youth,” will take place Thursday, March 26, at 11:30 a.m. at the Tom Maas Clubhouse, located at 3301 Oak St. in Paso Robles.
The organization is bringing the event to Northern San Luis Obispo County to inform community members about trends impacting young people in the county.
Business leaders, policymakers, and community officials are encouraged to attend the luncheon event, where Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast CEO Maria Fabula will join Paso Robles Joint Union School District Superintendent Jennifer Loftus and District 5 Supervisor Heather Moreno for a panel discussion. The panelists will discuss the landscape facing young people across the county and the challenges they are experiencing.
“Every young person deserves the opportunity to succeed, and that requires a community willing to listen, learn, and act,” said Maria Fabula, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast. “‘Standing With Youth’ brings together leaders, educators, and community members to better understand the challenges facing our youth today and to work together to create stronger pathways to opportunity.”
Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast hosted a previous “Standing With Youth” event earlier this year in January at its Railroad Clubhouse in Santa Maria. The event focused on ways community members could support opportunities for young people to develop into stronger and healthier future leaders.
“Standing With Youth” is sponsored by the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Central Coast Foundation.
Community members are encouraged to attend the event on March 26. Individuals interested in attending can register online at SWYPaso.givesmart.com at no charge.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast was founded in 1966 and serves youth from transitional kindergarten through age 18. The organization provides after-school tutoring, mentoring, and access to activities focused on health and development.
