Atascadero secures funding to upgrade police communication systems

Construction on police department expansion is expected to begin soon
– Congressman Jimmy Panetta held a joint news conference Wednesday with the City of Atascadero to announce the allocation of $850,000 in federal money to improve the dispatch operation at the Atascadero Police Department.
Atascadero Mayor Charles Bourbeau said, “We appreciate our Congressman helping to enhance public safety in Atascadero.”
Work on the expansion at the police department will get underway in the next few weeks.
The expenditure will enhance communication capabilities for the Atascadero Police Department and the community it serves.
Police Chief Daniel Suttles says, “We’re very excited about this upgrade and what it means for our department and this community.”
